TATTOO AFTERCARE

Aftercare is an important component to your new artwork healing well.  Your tattooist has done their job to the highest standard, following the aftercare advice post procedure is an important responsibility and if followed properly ensures your tattoo heals nicely and retains as much pigment and detail as possible.

When you arrive home please remove the barrier film from the tattoo and wash with water as warm as the skin can tolerate and pat dry with high-quality paper/kitchen towel.
Be mindful not to rub the tattoo when doing this. There is no need to reapply barrier film again.

Apply a small to moderate amount of aftercare cream (supplied in studio) with freshly washed clean hands three to four times daily. It is important not to apply aftercare cream too generously as you do not want to suffocate the skin. Please ensure skin around the tattooed area is also clean before applying.

Tattoos are an open wound and need to be treated as such.

*NO SWIMMING for 6 weeks post-procedure.

*NO SUNBEDS OR SUN EXPOSURE for 6 weeks post-procedure.

Wash with non-scented/non-fragranced natural soap, do not use shower gel etc.

Shower rather than bathing where and if possible, do not submerge your healing tattoo in a body of water for an extended period of time, excessive exposure to water dries out the tattoo, preventing pigments from being optimally retained by the skin.

*Do not pick or encourage the skin to flake or scab, doing so will damage the pigments in the healing skin, allow the skin to heal and "flake" naturally.

If you have any concerns or questions, please contact your artist.
