A sit-down with your tattoo artist isn’t only an opportunity for you to prepare for your upcoming appointment it's also to ensure they’ll get the same chance to make an assessment of your needs and desires. Describe the tattoo you are looking to get and provide the artist with images and ideas that inspire you.
Consider where you want the tattoo
This will have some influence on the design. For any parts of your body that you show regularly or more intimate for example if you need to ensure suitable placement that complies with work requirements you may have, particularly if tattoos are not allowed to be clearly on show.

Your tattoo appointment
A good night's sleep and food are recommended as this will help stamina during the tattoo process. Don't be late but do share any health concerns. It may not affect you to come in five or 10 minutes late, but it can spoil your artist’s schedule for the day. Many people about to get tattooed are concerned with the pain associated with the process. At a minimum, there is a sort of discomfort involved. How far up on the pain meter the experience rates depends largely on the individual getting the tattoo and their tolerance to pain. Other factors include the size of the tattoo, the length of time the process takes and the placement choice on the body.
